Carlsbad preps for new mini golf course

Carlsbad preps for new mini golf course

The City of Carlsbad gave its residents a gorgeous teaser of the miniature golf course under development at Lake Carlsbad Municipal Golf Course, 901 Muscatel Ave.

Expected to open the afternoon of Feb. 11, weather permitting, Carlsbad Miniature Golf will be an 18-hole course with similar hours as the golf course, from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., except for a noon opening on Tuesday, according to Carlsbad Mayor Dale Janway. Admission will be $5.

“You’ll be able to bring your own clubs or borrow clubs from us when you pay an admission fee,” Mayor Janway said.

The mayor expects incredibly high interest when the park opens, noting benches around the area will allow parents to watch their children play.

Janway appears correct about the new mini-golf course’s popularity. The post above image on Facebook drew over 300 likes in two hours and dozens of comments, including “Looking forward to it!,” “Oooh, looks like fun!” and “I’m on my way.”

Check back — we’ll update the story when the mini golf course officially opens.
