39th Annual Shrimpfest set for Ector County Coliseum

Nothing is small about Shrimpfest.

For the 39th year, the Ellen Noël Art Museum of the Permian Basin (ENAM) is hosting its largest annual fundraiser with over 1,200 expected attendees at the Ector Coliseum, Building G on Monday, Feb. 26. General entry begins at 7 p.m. and sponsorship tables are available.

Guests get unlimited Cajun shrimp and opportunities to bid on a variety of unique items during silent and live auctions. Auction prizes include vacations, hunting trips, beauty products and jewelry as well as pieces made by local artists.

General Admission tickets are $50 in advance and $55 at the door. They include entry to the event, unlimited shrimp, and a drink.

Also big about Shrimpfest is its impact. As a nonprofit, ENAM relies on fundraisers like Shrimpfest to help supplement the funding it receives through donations, memberships, and grants. All profits from this event will sustain museum programs like Art 2 Go for second graders, Free Comnmunity Art Days with activities for all ages, and Fine Arts Connection third grade field trips.

It also allows the museum to bring in exhibitions like Gastronomy to the public at no cost (Gastronomy is currently on display through March 10).

“Profits from Shrimpfest also help the Museum to expand, develop, and diversify its programs to better meet the needs of our growing community,” museum officials said.
