AIRSHO prepares for takeoff at Midland Air & Space Port
Ladies and gentlemen of the Permian Basin, please take your seats and fasten your seatbelts. AIRSHO is about to take off at Midland International Air & Space Port.
The 33rd Annual event hosted by the Commemorative Air Force High Sky Wing (CAF) will take place Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8. In the sky, you’ll see impressive flying displays of vintage military aircraft and dazzling aerobatic performers. Meanwhile on the tarmac, award-winning pyrotechnics will simulate bomb raids and the infamous “wall of fire” to make scenes in aviation history come to life.
A variety of food vendors, exhibitors and a kid’s area, including the Something More to Explore Mobile Planetarium, will be featured near the runway or in the High Sky Wing Hangar at 900 Wright Drive.

The gravity-defying action serves, in part, to honor the achievements of the Permian Basin’s historic leadership in producing the aviation fuel and pilots that ensured an allied victory during WWII.
