Arts Council of Midland unveils two March events

The Arts Council of Midland is unveiling plans for two events in March ranging from designing a floral centerpiece to a reception/exhibition featuring a trio of women making art.

The events—a reception for “A Trio Showcase—Women Making Art” and “Burst of Color with Velvet Mesquite Designs”—occur during Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate women’s contributions to history, culture and society. The events are for everyone to enjoy.

The free-to-attend reception for “A Trio Showcase—Women Making Art” comes to the Arts Council of Midland Gallery Thurs., March 21 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. It features the works of local artist Sharon Navage, whose focus is printing; Connie Lee, who explores neurographic art; and Leslie Webb, whose concentration is ceramics. At the “Burst of Color” event March 26 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., participants can explore their creativity by designing a floral centerpiece with Elizabeth Resch, owner of Velvet Mesquite Designs, ahead of Easter. The event is at the Arts Council of Midland; tickets are $120 and can be purchased here, by calling (432) 687-1149 or by emailing info@acmidland.org.

The Arts Council of Midland is located at 1506 W. Illinois Ave. in Midland.
