Carlsbad Caverns centennial exhibition to open June 3
Mark your calendars for the opening of the Carlsbad Caverns National Park Centennial Exhibition at Carlsbad Museum on Saturday, June 3.
The event, slated to begin at 5 p.m. at the musuem at 418 West Fox Street in Carlsbad. It’s part of a series of events and activities planned throughout the year to commemorate the establishment of the national park on Oct. 25, 2023. Recently, national park officials shared photos of banners hung around Carlsbad recognizing “100 years.”
The museum exhibition will enable attendeed to “discover the beauty, history, and exploration at the exhibition through exhibits, photos, and objects from the park’s museum collection,” according to national park officials. The exhibition will be open through Oct. 25.
The Carlsbad Museum, itself approaching a centennial, having been established in 1931, opens Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
