Carlsbad to ring in holiday season with Elf Run, Night of Lights

When the Creative Carlsbad Arts Council announces it is time to “get elf’ed up,” it is clear that the holiday season has arrived.

The Council is inviting the community to join its Elf Run and Night of Lights events at Halagueno Arts Park in Carlsbad on Saturday, Nov. 26, sponsored by Chevron.

The Elf Run is a “5K-ish” fun run that ends with a contest costume and challenges participants and their pets to “come as their best elf self.” The run starts at 3 p.m. and costs $25, with proceeds going straight to United Way. The Elf Run is followed by Night of Lights, which starts at 4 p.m. at Halagueno Arts Park, right in front of the library.

Night of Lights will feature performances, music, vendors, food trucks and perhaps even a visit from Santa and Buddy the Elf. The celebration finishes at dark with the Electric Light Parade lighting up the streets of Carlsbad.
