Dallas Cowboys cornerback Travon Diggs coming to Odessa

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Travon Diggs will be a star among stars when he visits Odessa on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023.

Diggs is slated to speak at the Black Cultural Council of Odessa’s scholarship banquet, “An Evening with the Stars.”

The banquet, which will help recognize young stars in the community who are taking it to the next level, will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Odessa Marriott Hotel & Conference Center at 305 N. 5th St.

During Black History Month in February, the Black Cultural Council of Odessa celebrates the history and culture of Black Americans in part by awarding scholarships to African American students, recognizing their contributions to the community and remembering the many significant contributions of Black Americans in general. The Council also annually hosts celebrations on MLK Day and Juneteenth.

“No student should be held back due to lack of educational funding,” the organization states. “Help us make sure that deserving students get the funding they need for a successful future.”
