Dolly Parton program gets over 1,000 Ector County children reading in short time

Dolly Parton inspires generations of music fans — and readers, too.

The Education Foundation of Odessa announced that over 1,200 local children had enrolled in the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Ector County as of Thursday, Jan. 26.

The enrollment figure comes just over one month after the program was announced in the community.

Funded by the Education Foundation of Odessa and Chevron, the program has Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library providing one high-quality book per month to Ector County children from birth to age five at no cost.

All age-eligible Ector County children are currently able to access Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for free. Parents can click here to sign up.

The program aligns with the Imagination Library’s mission to inspire a love of reading and learning in children. Dolly Parton wants to encourage kids to “dream more, learn more, care more and be more.”
