Dolly Parton program gets over 1,000 Ector County kids reading in short ime

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library brings gift of reading to Ector County children

Ector County children can expand their love of reading thanks to a new partnership involving Chevron, the Education Foundation and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

The partnership is seeing Imagination Library provide one high-quality book per month to Ector County children from birth to age five at no cost. The partnership aligns with the Imagination Library’s mission to inspire a love of reading and learning in children. Dolly Parton wants to encourage kids to “dream more, learn more, care more and be more.”

All age-eligible Ector County children are currently able to access Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Parents can click here to sign up.

Education Foundation Executive Director Celeste Potter expressed the Education Foundation’s excitement regarding the partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, as well as Chevron for making it all possible. She said that reading supports early literacy, emotional bonding and opens a child to a world of possibilities.

“We hope families in Ector County will embrace this program and read with their children,” Potter said.
