Dr. Damon Kennedy named president of Midland College
The Midland College Board of Trustees selected Dr. Damon Kennedy as the next president of Midland College, according to Trustees Chair Steve Kiser.
Dr. Kennedy is currently vice president of Instructional Services at MC, Kiser said in a statement. Previously, he was MC’s dean of Behavioral Sciences and Business at the college.
He was selected among a group of three finalists that included Dr. Thad Anglin, president and CEO at Cisco College, and Dr. Ian Roark, vice chancellor of Workforce Development and Innovation at Pima Community College in Tuscon, Arizona. Dr. Kennedy earned a Doctor of Philosophy in American History from Texas Tech University and a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in American History from UT Permian Basin.
“The Board of Trustees extends its appreciation to the entire Midland College community for its participation in the presidential forums,” Kiser said. “All feedback was reviewed and greatly valued by the Board. Everyone’s collaborative and concerted work enriched the search process.”
