Groundbreaking ceremony set for Reeves County 4-H Building

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held for the Reeves County 4-H Building on Monday, Jan. 29, 2024, at 4:30 p.m.

The event is open to the public and will take place at the site at the future Reeves County 4-H Building site at 10 County Road 118, just East of Martinez Field.

The new 4,379 square feet facility will house the operations of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. The Extension Service is described as a unique education agency with a statewide network of professional educators, trained volunteers, and county offices. It is tasked with delivering innovative science-based solutions and education at the intersection of health, agriculture and environment in communities.

“This advanced facility will offer practical learning opportunities to address social issues while maintaining its core values of honesty, leadership, heritage, politeness, excellence, and assistance,” County officials said.

The project is being paid for by Reeves County’s allocation of COVID American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. GrantWorks and the County collaborated in the implementation of this project, officials said.
