Hobbs doubles pudding cup donations goal ahead of school year

That’s a lot of pudding.

The City of Hobbs announced that its community more than doubled its goal for annual pudding cup donations to The Weekend Hunger Initiative (WHI), Hobbs.

In total, 9,028 pudding cups were collected during the food drive.

The pudding will be included in local children-in-need’s lunches.

“We have always exceeded our drive goals, but we never doubled it,” city officials said.

Added WHI Hobbs, “Thanks in huge part to the contributions to WHI Hobbs, children in our local community will be better served, and WHI Hobbs will be able to spend their resources elsewhere to collect the other many supplies they send home with local children.”

WHI supports school aged children and their siblings who are enduring food insecurity, and also provides hygiene kits once a quarter with the child’s food bag and school supplies with their first food bag of the school year.
