Inspiring Permian Basin mom crowned Mrs. America

One of the Permian Basin’s own has been crowned Mrs. America.

Regina Stock, graduate of Odessa High School Class of 2014 who is currently raising her family in Midland, beat out more than 40 other competitors for the coveted honor Saturday night at the competition in Las Vegas, according to Peagent Circle. She previously held the titles of Miss Texas USA, Miss Big Bend, Miss Permian Basin and Miss Ector County, the publication notes.

Stock succeeds last year’s winner Nicole Zwiercan of Illinois. Runners up at this year’s contest were Shelby Petey of California and Nicole Zwiercan of Illinois, respectively.

The Mrs. America pageant features the most accomplished married women of America. Each year, delegates representing U.S. states plus the District of Columbia compete for the honor. The winners of the Mrs. America and Mrs. American pageants go on to compete at Mrs. World.

“Mrs. America was the FIRST Mrs. pageant to celebrate married women and their families,” the contest states.

Stock, 27, is now getting national attention, but no where are people more proud than right here in her hometown.

In honor of her victory, the Ector County School District took a walk down memory lane by sharing photos online of Stock as a member of the Lady Bronchos volleyball and basketball teams, and also while performing for the Broncho Legacy Choir.

Stock was described as an inspiring mom who is raising four children with her husband Robert. Earlier this year, she completed training to become a paramedical tattoo artist, where she can “camouflage scars and stretch marks” and “reconstruct areolas.” She plans to open her paramedical tattoo business, InkRx, soon.

“Scars can be physical, mental, or emotional,” she said. “Through my business and my platform, ‘take off the mask so you can live full and leave empty,’ I help people heal any form of scar and the trauma and pain that comes from it. I help people love themselves again and gain their confidence back.”

Stock said her platform is “all about heartwork and finding yourself, not the person that you were conditioned to believe you have to be.”

“My platform is something that I am extremely passionate about because it is something I am still working through myself,” she said. “I am healing my own trauma while also helping others heal from theirs.”

In an Instagram post Monday, Stock said her “dreams came true” in Las Vegas. She praised her fellow contestants as “some of the most incredible women I have ever met.”

“I have worked SO hard physically, mentally, and emotionally to be able to show up this week as my truest most authentic self,” Stock said. “I am grateful that the heard work I have put in has paid off. I started my journey to Mrs. Texas hoping to find my why and find my purpose. I’m thankful that the road to Mrs. America has helped me heal and find my path in life.”

Stock further stated she has “big heels to fill” and “cannot wait to serve as your new Mrs. America.”
