Martin County sheriff honors 7-year-old for bravery during dog attack

Mason Belcher, age 7, recently earned a bravery award from Sheriff Brad Ingram in Martin County.

During a reported dog attack in his yard, Mason reportedly helped get his younger siblings to safety. He then held pressure on his grandfather’s wounds until EMS arrived.

For his courage and quick-action, Mason was presented with a Certificate of Bravery from Stanton School Resource Officer and Martin County Sheriff’s Office.

“We are proud of Mason for listening, being a leader and a hero in a stressful situation,” Sheriff Ingram stated on social media.
