Midland Rockhounds visiting clubhouse manager wins league award

Blake Glass, visiting clubhouse manager for the Midland Rockhounds, recently won the prestigious Texas League Visiting Clubhouse Attendant Award.

The Rockhounds say the award is well deserved, noting Glass’ “dedication, passion and unparalleled service” leave a lasting impact on everyone stepping into their ballpark.

Ray Fieldhouse, the assistant general manager for the Rockhounds, called Glass “by far our best” visiting clubhouse manager in his 27 years in Midland.

It isn’t just the Rockhounds singing Glass’ praises.

Scott Hennesey, manager of the Tulsa Drillers, called Glass “the  best clubby ever,” saying Midland is lucky to have him.

“I wish we had him on the home side in Tulsa,” Hennesey said.

Luke Montz, manager of the San Antonio Missions, described Glass as a caring person who communicates well and “has everything ready and in order the minute you walk in.”

“He is attentive, will do whatever is needed or asked and never skips a beat,” Montz said. “The two times we were (in Midland) I always heard our players and staff talking about the job he did. It did not go unnoticed.”

Shawn Roof, manager of the Amarillo Sod Poodles, echoed the above sentiments: “Don’t lose him because someone else will be lucky to get him.”

Glass’ LinkedIn profile indicates he’s been with the Rockhounds for just under a year. He previously served as head club manager for the Lancaster Barnstormers.
