Midland Soup Kitchen Ministry invites community to ‘Fun in the Sun with a Cop’

Popsicles, water slides and SWAT cars? You can have them all and more in one Midland spot on Friday, July 15.

The Midland Soup Kitchen Ministry at 1401 Orchard Lane is holding a “Fun in the Sun with a Cop” event from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m.

The children-focused event will feature a 16-foot water slide, so bring towels, over 500 popsicles, police cruisers, sheriff’s cruisers, SWAT cars, a fire truck and tables with fun goodies, the organization said.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times at the free event.

The Midland Soup Kitchen Ministry “provides a free, hot home-cooked meal to anyone God sends through our doors.” It does so Monday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
