Midland students win SUVs for outstanding school attendance

Simply for having excellent attendance at school, two Midland students each won brand new sports utility vehicles, courtesy of Rogers Ford Lincoln.

Albany Solis of Midland High (pictured) and Dylan Ramjattan of Legacy High became eligible for the local dealership’s drawing thanks to their outstanding school attendance, according to Midland ISD.

Newswest 9 attended the drawing and reported that 40 students in total were eligible for the contest, as they didn’t miss a single day during a six-week grading period this year and maintained a 90 percent attendance rate. The students who didn’t win SUVs received $50 gift cards, the news station reported.

Midland High’s principal praised the contest for encouraging students to come to school.
