Museum of the Southwest sets its sights on SeptemberFest
The Museum of the Southwest is readying to roll out “SeptemberFest,” its three-day arts festival set for Fri. Sept. 29 through Sun., Oct. 1. The Midland event is currently marking its 54th year.
The museum said SeptemberFest will celebrate the region’s West Texas Heritage, while also sharing treasured traditions and new artists, craftsmanship and live demonstrations. A variety of food/drink selections, vendors and child-friendly art and science activities via its KinderFest will keep all ages entertained. The event serves as the museum’s largest and most successful fundraiser.
Festivities will get started with a Preview Party Fri., Sept. 29 from 6-10 p.m., treating attendees to the unveiling of the museum’s Warhol x Scholder: Cowboys & Indians exhibition that includes a selection of pop icon Andy Warhol artworks and paintings by Luiseño artist Fritz Scholder. Tickets to SeptemberFest’s Preview Party are $75 for members and $100 for non-members. Find out more about the event’s Friday night Preview Party and sponsorship opportunities here.
Admission to the event Sat., Sept 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. is $10 for children 12 and under (children three and under are free) and $15 for adults. Click the link to purchase Saturday tickets. As for Sun., Oct. 1 from 12-5 p.m., tickets are priced the same and can be purchased here.
