The Odessa College women’s golf team earned the highest overall GPA of all sports in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in the 2022-23 academic season with a 3.96 mark, according to the NJCAA.

The team was one of six Wrangler programs that had a 3.0 team GPA or higher for the 2022-23 school year. Others OC programs earning that mark include Volleyball (3.83 GPA); Men’s Golf (3.75); Softball (3.68); Baseball (3.52) and Women’s Basketball (3.52).

The NJCAA ‘s report of programs receiving a 3.0 GPA or higher, which can be accessed here, named 30 programs nationwide earning NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors after achieving the highest GPA in their respective sport throughout the academic year. Among them are Northwest Kansas Tech men’s half marathon, Monroe College (NY) men’s indoor track & field, Mineral Area (MO) women’s indoor track & field, Monroe College (NY) men’s outdoor track & field, Oxford Emory (GA) men’s soccer, Southwestern Oregon men’s swimming & diving, Southwestern Oregon women’s swimming & diving, and Pratt (KS) men’s wrestling, according to the NJCAA.
