Odessa Family YMCA to open hygiene closet for community members in need
A new hygiene closet is opening at the Odessa Family YMCA that will provide community members in need with basic items for free, according to the Y.
The hygiene closet, made possible with support from a $5,000 grant from Superior HealthPlan, will be open to the public on the first Friday of every month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Y’s central location at 3001 E. University St.
Items offered to families and individuals include deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, laundry soap, cleaning supplies and more.
“Our organization is always looking for ways to serve our community that we love so much,” said Crissy Medina, CEO/President of the Odessa Family YMCA. “We are so honored to collaborate with Superior HealthPlan to provide a new free service to local residents and families who need that extra help.”
