Permian High alum helps National Park College win national basketball title

Permian High alum Nakavieon White is a national college basketball champion.

White helped the National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk Men’s Basketball Team win the NJCAA Division II National Championship on Saturday, March 24.

The college hosted a celebration for the team Tuesday, March 26.

The Nighthawks finished the season 31-1 and defeated South Suburban College, 84-79, in the national title game.

White had a big impact in that game and ultimately earn All-Tournament honors.

The forward has been integral for the Nighthawks, leading the team this season in scoring (17.4 points per game), rebounds (8.1 ppg) assists (6.2 ppg) and blocks (1.8 ppg) and is third in steals (2.1). He’s also the Nighthawks’ all-time leader in scoring, blocks, assists and rebounds.

On April 1, White reported on X that he received an offer to play Division 1 basketball from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
