Odessa recording artist Erica Lane’s Christmas song has strong debut

Odessa recording artist Erica Lane’s Christmas single, “The Friendly Beasts,” recently debuted at No. 42 on Billboard’s Monitored Adult Contemporary Chart, and also at No. 61 on the New Music Weekly Hot 100.

UTPB Director of Percussion Studies Tim Feerst recorded the drums and percussion for the recording.

Lane is a singer-songwriter, former Miss Houston and Top 10 U.S. Miss World. For the week ending Nov. 25, her rendition of “The Friendly Beasts” landed ahead of new singles by Shania Twain, Black Eyed Peas, Charlie D’Amelio and more on the New Music Weekly Hot 100, according to a press release. The single also landed at No. 8 on New Music Weekly’s Indie Music Single Chart, and No. 55 on The Mediabase Monitored AC Chart.

Lane’s song was recorded at the Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio in Wimberley, Texas. Along with Feerst, Scott Mulvahill contributed to the recording, which was engineered by John Ziola and mixed by Mike Rogers.

UTPB congratulated Feerst on Facebook, noting that “The Friendly Beasts” will be performed on the Basin PBS Yuletide Show this year.
