Renaissance festival coming to Carlsbad
Take a step back in time at the first annual Cavern City Renaissance Festival this Friday, Sept 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1.
Costumes are highly encouraged for the events taking place at the Lake Carlsbad Recreation Area (See costume ideas here.).
The festival will occur around the beach bandshell, according to Carlsbad Mayor Dale Janway, and will feature renaissance-era events such as armored combat, magic, comedy, music, axe-throwing, fire-eating and more. Grab a turkey leg and join in on the medieval-era good times.
The event also features dozens of artisan vendors as well as a number of food and drink vendors.
The fun runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for youth ages 6-12 per day. Tickets can be purchased here.
