United Supermarkets & Market Street holding fundraiser for West Texas Food Bank

Shoppers at United Supermarkets and Market Street have the option to donate $10 at the register to fund a grocery bag filled with pasta, pasta sauce, salad and bread for a family in need.

The fundraiser for the West Texas Family Food Bank coincides with Hunger Action Month and will end Sept. 30.

United and Market Street will donate ground beef to the first 100 bags funded through this effort, the Food Bank reported on social media.

The West Texas Food Bank is the largest nonprofit, non-governmental hunger-relief organization in the Permian Basin, distributing donated and purchased food to children, families and seniors across 34,000 square miles of Texas. To learn more about the nonprofit, go here.
