UTPB Cheer earns first ever bid to NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach

The UTPB Cheer team has earned its first ever bid to the 2023 NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, the unversity announced on social media today.

Bids to Nationals, which are set for April 5-9, 2023, are “based on the team’s successful completion of specific requirements in the areas of participation, conduct, and camp achievements,” according to the National Cheerleaders Association.

In the UTPB report, Cheerleader Izaiha Bush, who is studying nursing, said performing in Daytona fulfills a dream. Added her teammate Alarie Ritcher, “We have been working so hard for this, and it is a great feeling to know that our efforts have been noticed.”

Terry Lynn Lane, second year cheer coach, sang the praises of the university for its support of the program and called her team “incredible.”

“There is just something special about them, and we are ready to take this on,” Lane said. “The future is so bright, and we cannot wait. This is only the beginning!”
