Midland ranks 12th out of 500 ‘Best BBQ Cities in America’
Out of 500 U.S. cities, Midland ranked 12th on Lawnstarter.com‘s 2024 Best BBQ Cities in America, which the City of Midland lauded this week.
Kansas City, Memphis, and Houston ranked among the top three, with Austin ranking seventh and San Antonio eighth.
In total, 46 of the 500 cities are in Texas, with Lubbock coming in 45th, Odessa in 111th and Abilene and San Angelo coming in 173rd and 178th, respectively.

The rankings this year were expanded to 500 cities and are based upon categories such as “access, consumer satisfaction, elite barbecue memberships, competition awards and hosting,” according to Lawnstarter.com.
Midland ranked third in competition award rankings, ninth in elite barbecue rankings, 32nd for hosting, 160th for access and 222nd for consumer satisfaction.
