‘Eclipse Day’ to bring astronaut, activities to Blakemore Planetarium
Eclipse Day at Blakemore Planetarium will involve more than simply gazing up at the sky with protective viewing glasses.
In fact, Astraunaut John Herrington will be on hand on Saturday, Oct. 14, to speak at planetarium located at the Museum of the Southwest at 1800 W. Indiana Ave. His talks will occur following the eclipse at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Visitors will enjoy activities with Midland College, NuMinds Enrichment, McDonald Observatory staff, and many more.
The free event is presented by Chevron.
In Midland, the last annular eclipse of the century is scheduled to begin at 10:18 a.m. and last three hours, three minutes, with maximum coverage being viewed around 11:45 a.m.
