Hobbs Municipal Court building set for renovations

Hobbs Municipal Court set for security upgrades

The City of Hobbs will temporarily relocate its municipal court operations for a period of six months to one year in order to conduct renovations on its permanent home. The temporary home for the Court will be 301 N. Dalmont St.

City staff worked on the plans and design for the renovations of the Hobbs Municipal Court, located at 301 N Turner St., for over two years, with the aim of improving functionality and security throughout the facility, according to Municipal Court Clerk Shannon Carter-Arguello. According to city documents, the safety improvements are “designed to provide safe refuge in the building or safe retreat from the building.”

“This will place us in a better position to serve citizens as well as provide a safer environment for our staff and citizens.”

“This will place us in a better position to serve citizens as well as provide a safer environment for our staff and citizens,” Carter-Arguello said. “We are grateful to all involved in this endeavor, including City leadership for the resources and funds to make it happen.”
