Meet Matias Hernandez, the first child born in Midland in 2023
At 12:13 a.m. Jan. 1, Matias Hernandez became the first child born in Midland in 2023, according to Midland Memorial Hospital.
The hospital shared a photo of proud parents Erika Flores Fuentes and Juan Hernandez of Midland with their gorgeous newborn.
At his birth, the baby boy weighed 7 bounds, 1 ounce and was 20 inches long.
“The family was presented with a gift basket full of items for the new baby and mom,” hospital officials said.
Generous donations to the gift basket came from Hope Chest of Midland, Anthus Boutique Miss Cayce’s Christmas Store, Nifty Knitters for Newborns Midland Churches of Christ, The Little Gym of Midland, and Flowerland Midland.
