Midland Animal Services to offer Saturday hours starting Oct. 1

Starting Oct. 1, Midland Animal Services‘ facility at 1200 N Fairgrounds Rd. will be open for public visits Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Currently, the facility is open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., but is not open on the weekend.

Midland Animals Services cares for impounded and unwanted animals through, according to its site, “redemption, adoption and public education.”

The city agency is supported by volunteer groups including the Midland Humane Coalition, and MASA, which posts photos of animals at the Midland Animal Shelter on the group’s Facebook page.

Along with adoptions, the agency operates a Spay and Neuter Voucher Program, a trap, neuter, release program, and a volunteer program for community members wanting to help care for the shelter’s four-legged guests. Learn more here.
