Midland Memorial Hospital program to train students with developmental disabilities
Midland Memorial Hospital (MMH) today will implement a transition-to-work program that will assist local students ages 18-22 with developmental disabilities to obtain job skills that make them marketable in the workforce.
The program kicks off at MMH with seven interns from the Midland ISD. Those interns will complete a one-year employment preparation program.
“MMH wants to assist these interns in finding employment and becoming successful in their future endeavors,” said Stephen Bowerman, President and Chief Executive Officer. “After completion of the program, we hope they have gained useful knowledge and feel at home so they can join our MMH family as employees.”
This new program is a partnership involving Midland Memorial Hospital, Project Search ®, Midland ISD, PermiaCare, Texas Workforce Solutions and Empowering Hands.
