Midland runners rally support for one of their own

Midland runners honored and raised funds for a fellow runner who was recently diagnosed with lymphoma at an event at Tall City Brewing Co. on Nov. 3.

CBS7 was there to report the story on the effort to support Popcorn.  He’s a Midland resident, owner of King and I and also a cross country coach and active community member. The Midland Run Club held a “run with joy” honor run on Nov. 3 encouraging donations of money and meals to Popcorn and his young daughter. The run also marked the club’s final Tall City Beer Run of the season.

“Popcorn has been serving our community for over 19 years and now it’s our turn to serve him,” states a GoFundMe for Popcorn launched by LaNita Torres, VP of Midland Run Crew.
