M&M’s are favorite movie candy in Texas and New Mexico, Cinemark data says

Cinemark says M&M’s are the favorite movie candy for moviegoers in Texas and New Mexico based upon 2022 concessions data.

Today being National Candy Day, Cinemark, which operates nine theaters in West Texas and another in Carlsbad, NM, reviewed concessions data from its over 320 U.S. theaters to determine which candy is most craved in each state.

The results are interesting, as the love for a particular candy appears to cluster in certain regions of the U.S. For example, for the states of California, Nevada, Utah all the way up to states in the Pacific Northwest, Red Vines are the most popular movie candy.

Meanwhile, a cluster of states to the south really dig M&Ms, including Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Mississippi and Louisiana.

The study is by no means scientific, but it’s a fun exercise on National Candy Day.
