Odessa College honors contributors to local education at annual luncheon

Odessa College honored significant contributors to the improvement of education in the Permian Basin at its annual OC Honors Luncheon.

Those recognized at the Nov. 8 event include Chris Cole, who was honored as “Outstanding Individual;” Dr. Scott Muri, recognized as “Outstanding Educator;” Permian Strategic Partnership, named “Outstanding Nonprofit;” First Basin Credit Union, this year’s “Outstanding Business;” and Andrews Independent School District, which received the Community Impact Award.

The celebration luncheon took place at the Odessa Marriott Hotel and Conference Center and featured keynote speaker Noel Quiñones, Emmy award winning Puerto Rican writer, actor, educator and community organizer from the Bronx.
