Permian High’s Harris Sewell signs with Clemson Tigers
CBS7’s Jake Brandenberg posted great photos from Sewell’s signing day.
The Tigers are certainly excited to net the 6-4, 300 pound lineman, which ESPN.com ranked as the fourth-best offensive guard in the nation.
“The squad just keeps getting bigger,” the Tigers posted on social media. “Welcome home, Harris Sewell.”
Sewell had committed to Clemson in June.
“From the time I was a kid, I always dreamed to playing college football,” Sewell stated at the time. “There was never a time I didn’t want to play at the next level, but there were days when I wondered if I would get the chance to see my dream come true.”
While on the field as a Permian Panther, however, Sewell left no doubt that he’d play at the highest level of college football.
Sewell was the first freshman to start on the offensive line for the Permian Panthers in at least 11 years, and was rated as Texas’ top center entering 2022. During his career, the team’s record was 32-14, including 9-2 this year. He’s a four-time All-District selection, second-team Academic All-State as a junior and All-Permian Basin first-team honoree as a senior.
According to the Tigers, Sewell is expected to enroll at Clemson in January 2023.
