The whole family is invited. A volunteer told Permian Proud that the MTC is filled with dedicated and talented local actors who bring this classic show to life. Actors range from age 8 and up.

The Sound of Music is the final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein and features well-known songs such as “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do Re Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and The Sound of Music. In the story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, Maria assumes the role of governess to a large family and falls in love with the children and their widowed father, Capt. von Trapp, who is ordered to accept a commission to join the German Navy. But he opposes the Nazis and he and Maria flee from Austria with the children.
