Odessa Chick-fil-A surprises employees at their school with college scholarships
Three students at Odessa Collegiate Academy got quite the surprise when representatives of the restaurant where they work — the Chick-fil-A on University Boulevard — showed up at their campus with giant checks.
Representatives of the restaurant gifted high school students Trinity Ormsby, Carlos Vasquez, and Fiona Miles with scholarships of $2,500 toward their college futures, according to Ector County ISD.
In total, their restaurant recently awarded 10 Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures Scholarships for college. Ormsby, Vasquez and Miles were the lone high schoolers to receive the scholarships.
Chick-fil-A offers employees at all stores the opportunity to apply for college scholarships through the Remarkable Futures Scholarships initiative. Since 1973, the company said it has invested more than $162 million in scholarships to help more than 93,000 Team Members pursue a higher education.
