Odessa High junior Ivan Carreon commits to Texas Tech
Ivan Carreon, junior wide receiver at Odessa High, announced on Twitter Thursday he has committed to playing for the Texas Tech Raiders.
The 6-6, 200-pound Carreon caught 51 passes for 1,168 reeciving yards and 14 touchdowns this season. He also rushed for 81 yards and five TDs, and punted 19 times for 886 yards, with an average of 46.6 yards and a long of 64 yards.
He was named first-team all-District 2-6A.

Carreon told Inside Red Raider his visits to Texas Tech and the positive treatment he and his family have received by the Red Raiders played a role in his decision.
“I been talking about it for a while now with my parents and I decided I was ready to tell the coaches,” he told Inside Red Raider. “They were excited and hyped for me to be there.”
