Online fundraiser aims to support Odessa mother of six during cancer fight
An online fundraiser aims to support the mother of six children who is battling cancer.
Crystal Carnero, mom to kids ages 18, 15, 11, 10, 8 and 7, was diagnosed with head and neck cancer on Mother’s Day 2020, according to the GoFundMe established by friend and colleague Randi Oyervides. While fighting cancer, she continued to work as a surgical aide at Midland Memorial Hospital to provide for her family, Oyervides said.
The past year, however, her cancer has become more aggressive in spite of various treatments.
“I was blessed with meeting Crystal on one of our assignments and she was an absolute dream to work with,” Oyervides said, adding, “I’m asking us to rally for this mother, wonderful friend and kind heart in a time of need.”
Donations of any size are appreciated. All proceeds will support Crystal’s treatments and her family in this time of need, according to Oyervides.
