Orphaned owls get new lease on life at Desert Willow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
A group of baby Great Horned Owls are thriving since Chevron employees found them abandoned on their worksite in Hobbs last month and brought them to the Desert Willow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
The center at 512 Fiesta Drive in Carlsbad reports that the owls are now reportedly flying, in predator training and will be released in a few months.
Chevron provides funding to the wildlife rehab center to support its critical role in caring for a wide variety of injured or orphaned wildlife. It is one of only two wildlife rehabilitation centers in New Mexico.
The center relies upon the generosity of the community to do the great work it does. Consider donating to its efforts by visiting its website here: www.dwwrc.org.
You can also purchase a ticket for the Desert Willow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center Annual Benefit Dinner, which will take place Nov. 9 at the Water Gerrells Event Center in Carlsbad. Tickets can be purchased here: www.dwwrc.org/benefit.
