Orphaned owls get new lease on life at Desert Willow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
A group of baby Great Horned Owls are thriving since Chevron employees found them abandoned on their worksite in Hobbs last month and brought them to the Desert Willow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
The center at 512 Fiesta Drive in Carlsbad reports that the owls are now reportedly flying, in predator training and will be released in a few months.
Chevron provides funding to the wildlife rehab center to support its critical role in caring for a wide variety of injured or orphaned wildlife. It is one of only two wildlife rehabilitation centers in New Mexico.
