Permian Basin Fair and Expo invites applicants for ‘Junior Miss’ and ‘Little Miss’ pageants

The 2023 Permian Basin Fair and Expo is inviting young girls to compete for crowns, sashes, and titles in the Junior Miss and Little Miss Permian Basin pageants.

The pageants are open to girls between the ages of 4 to 16 and offer the chance to develop stage presence and public speaking skills while having fun, according to the Fair and Expo. The pageants will take place during the Fair’s 10-day run from September 1-10 at the Ector County Coliseum Fairgrounds, Main Stage.

Girls ages 12-14 and 15-16 are eligible to compete for the Junior Miss Permian Basin title, while girls ages 4 to 11 can compete within four age-group categories for the Little Miss Permian Basin title. The contestants will be judged on their personality, poise, coordination, and presentation, as well as an interview with the emcee on stage, according to the Fair and Expo. The interview portion is always a crowd favorite, as participants are asked about various topics, such as their pets, best friends, or favorite toys, and their responses are always enjoyable.

Entries for the pageants are due by Friday, Aug. 11, 2023. The pageant itself will take place on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023, at 2 p.m. Registration forms can be picked up and returned to the Permian Basin Fair Office at 218 West 46th, Monday through Thursday, between 9 a.m. to 3: p.m., or submitted online.
