He ranked second in the Big 12 for RBIs per game (1.07) and third in the league as toughest to strikeout, averaging one strikeout per 8.6 plate appearances, according to Texas Tech. He ranked seventh in the Big 12 for RBIs. And he also owned the longest hitting streak on his team last year at 13 games, from Feb. 22-March 22, along with his team’s second-longest on-base streak of 20 consecutive games from April 10-May 25.

In addition to making the NCBWAP Preseason All-America team, Coleman was named to the preseason All-Big 12 baseball team along with teammates Mason Molina and Hudson White.

Texas Tech’s baseball team was voted third in the 2023 Big 12 Baseball Preseason Poll behind Texas Christian and Oklahoma State.
