Odessa College softball coach nets 300th win

Odessa College Wrangler Head Softball Coach Jeff Jackson won his 300th career game as head coach this past Saturday, when Odessa defeated El Paso 11-0 in game four of their The Western Junior College Athletic Conference series.

Jackson is in his sixth season as the head coach at Odessa College, according to Odessa College. He guided the Wranglers to back-to-back appearances at the NJCAA D1 Softball National Tournament. Last year, the Wranglers finished third in the national championship tournament, knocking off No. 1 seed Florida SouthWestern along the way.

Odessa is currently 44-4 overall on the season and undefeated in conference play at 20-0.

Prior to Odessa, Coach Jackson served three seasons as head softball coach at Ranger College. Before becoming the head softball coach, he spent two years as the assistant baseball coach at Ranger. He began his coaching career at McMurry University in Abilene, after four seasons as the team’s catcher. Coach Jackson lives in Odessa with his wife, Jessica, six year-old daughter, Parker, and three year-old son, Connor.
