U.S. News and World Report recognizes ECHS at Midland College as ‘Best High School’
The U.S. News and World Report recognized Early College High School (ECHS) at Midland College on its Best High Schools list, ranking the campus as No. 141 out of over 2,000 schools across Texas. It is also ranked the No. 1 public high school in Midland.
Some of the reasons for the high ranking include a 100 percent graduation, 100 percent passage of all subjects on the STAAR, with 96 percent meeting grade level on STAAR testing, according to Midland ISD.
Last year, the the U.S. Department of Education named ECHS a National Blue Ribbon School.
ECHS is a four-year high school in partnership with Midland College that enables students to graduate high school with an associate degree and enter college ready for a bachelor’s degree program.
“Our dedicated educators, motivated students, and supportive community should all celebrate this distinction,” ECHS Principal Blanca Golson said, “We are committed to providing an educational experience that prepares students for success in higher education and beyond.”
