UTPB soccer’s Tatiana Leggiero named Lone Star Conference Player of Week
UTPB senior midfielder Tatiana Leggiero has been named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week for Week Six, becoming the first player to earn the offensive honors in program history and the second overall, according to the university’s athletics department.
The honor followed her strong performance in UTPB’s 5-1 victory over West Texas A&M on Oct. 4, the “first positive result against the Lady Buffs in program history,” according to UTPB.
Leggiero netted a goal just 25 seconds into the second half and added three assists, recording the Falcons’ first hat trick since Oct. 26, 2008. She has scored a goal in three straight games in leading her team to its best conference start in program history at 3-1-2 over the last six games.
