Works of STEM returning to Children’s Museum in Midland
Works of STEM classes for kids are returning to the Chevron Makerspace at the Fredda Turner Durham Children’s Museum, on the campus of the Museum of the Southwest in Midland. The classes are sponsored by Chevron.
The four upcoming Works of STEM classes will occur on Wed., Aug. 23 (Towering Heights); Fri., Aug. 25 (Towering Heights); Wed., Aug. 30 (Magnetic Marvels); and Fri., Sept. 1 (Magnetic Marvels) from 4 to 4:30 p.m. The classes are available to kids’ ages 7-plus free with admission and are open to the first ten children to check-in, per the museum.
“Towering Heights” will present the opportunity for kids to test their engineering skills in a LEGO tower building challenge. “From pillars to skyscrapers, we’re always building up,” per the museum on its website. For its part, “Magnetic Marvels” will share the secrets of one of nature’s invisible forces with attendees.
