ZZ Top coming to Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center
ZZ Top, the legendary band that formed in Houston in 1969 from two rival bands, is set to perform at the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center in Midland on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert begins at 8 p.m.
Tickets range from $73.75 to $173.75 and are on sale here.
Although ZZ Top requires little introduction, the Texas State Historical Association (TSHA) website does a nice job summarizing the band’s long-running success.
“The trio consists of Billy Gibbons (b. December 16, 1949, Houston) on lead guitar, Dusty Hill (b. Joe Hill, May 19, 1949, Dallas) on bass guitar, and Frank Beard (b. June 11, 1949, grew up in Irving) on drums,” the TSHA states. “Gibbons replaced the original members of his band, Moving Sidewalks, with Hill and Beard from rival band American Blues. The group began touring with other southern boogie bands in the 1970s and built a strong following in the process.”
Now a household name, ZZ Top is also a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since 2004. It is also honored in the Museum of the Gulf Coast’s Music Hall of Fame in Port Arthur, according to the TSHA.
