Chevron to boost Permian production in support of U.S. energy needs

The company aims to reach one million barrels of oil equivalent per day in the region by 2025 to help fuel the nation’s economic vitality.

Chevron is set to boost production in the Permian by 10 percent this year to support critical U.S. energy needs as the nation navigates through economic uncertainty and geopolitical instability. The company aims to reach one million barrels of oil equivalent per day in the region by 2025 to help fuel the nation’s economic vitality.

The boost in production will coincide with a focus on lowering carbon intensity at Chevron operations, which are already well below the global average. Currently, onshore methane intensity at Chevron’s U.S. operations is 85 percent lower than the global industry average. The company is targeting an additional 35 percent reduction in carbon intensity at its operations by 2028, focusing on methane, flaring and energy management.
