Gifts of Hope invites community to 6th Annual National Cancer Survivors Day

Gifts of Hope, a Midland-based nonprofit organization providing free support services to cancer patients and their families, invites the community to its 6th Annual National Cancer Survivors Day on Sunday, June 7, from 2 to 4 p.m.

The June 7 event at the organization’s new Midland facility, The Honeycomb (1506 W. Illinois Ave.), coincides with its 20th anniversary of providing support services to cancer patients and their families.

The 2026 theme, Rooted in Hope, Growing Forward Together, highlights two decades of community support. Cancer survivor Cathy Rodelo will be the featured guest speaker. During the event, attendees are invited to participate in a ribbon-tying ceremony on a new permanent installation to represent their connection to the mission. Guests can also enjoy live music, snow cones, and popcorn.

Every survivor present will receive a commemorative “Rooted in Hope” flower crate. Event T-shirts designed by survivor Barbra Stubbs are also available for purchase. Orders must be placed by May 23 for pickup on Friday, June 5, at The Honeycomb or during the Sunday celebration.

Community partners supporting the event include La Casa Verde Nursery, Texas Oncology, Midland Health, Home Hospice and Nursing, Great American Cookies and Hope House Honeybees. For more information or to order a shirt, contact Sadie Parker at 432-218-8714, extension 3, or email sadie@giftsofhopemidland.org.
