Southeast New Mexico College named a 2026 ‘Most Promising Place to Work’
Southeast New Mexico College received the 2026 Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges award from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD), in partnership with The EduLedger.
The national award identifies institutions based on employee recruitment and retention practices, workplace inclusivity, and community engagement.
“We are honored to receive this recognition,” said Steven Gonzales, director of Human Resources at Southeast New Mexico College. “SENMC is an exceptional place to work because of its welcoming, collaborative, and supportive environment. Guided by our mission, vision, and PRIDE values, we remain committed to ensuring employees feel valued and connected to a larger purpose. By listening to employees, strengthening relationships, and maintaining a flexible, people-centered approach, we have built a workplace culture that remains strong, supportive, and forward-focused.”
The college is scheduled to be formally recognized during the NISOD Conference in Austin, held from May 23-26. SENMC President Dr. Kevin Beardmore is designated to accept the award on behalf of the institution.
